The organic layer was separated, washed with brine (60 mL), dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to give approximately a 1:4 mixture of 5-chloro-2-(2,6-diisopropylbenzoyl)-6-(2- fluorophenyl)nicotinic acid with 5-chloro-3-(2,6-diisopropylbenzoyl)-6-(2- fluorophenyl)picolinic acid. m/z (ESI, +ve ion ion): 440.1 (M+H)+.
