Based on the metal-coordination interaction between amino functionalized poly(ionic liquid)-NH2 and Zn2+, a poly(ionic liquid)-based metal complex PIL-Zn with Lewis acid-base sites was assembled at room temperature, and its catalytic performance for the reaction of CO2 and epichlorohydrin to synthesize chloropropylene carbonate was studied. Through the synergistic effect of acid-base sites (Br, Zn2+), PIL-Zn can effectively catalyze the conversion of CO2 under the mild conditions (0.1 MPa, 75°C, 24 h) in the absence of solvent and co-catalyst, the conversion of epichlorohydrin and the selectivity of the target product chloropropylene carbonate are 95% and 99% resp., and its catalytic performance keeps well after 5 recycles. PIL-Zn exhibits good application potential in the field of catalytic conversion of CO2, which provides a new idea for the development of high performance catalyst materials.
